Freedom Climbers is a place for everyday people to help each other climb out of debt. These guidelines keep it kind, safe and useful for everyone. By joining the community, you agree to them.
1. Be kind
Everyone here is starting from somewhere. No shaming, mocking, name-calling or piling on. Disagree with ideas, not people. Celebrate every win, big or small.
2. No selling, no referral links
No ads, affiliate or referral links, “DM me” offers, courses, MLM, crypto or investment pitches, and no promoting your own products or services. Posts that sell will be removed and repeat offenders banned.
3. No personal financial advice
Share what worked for you and point to general education, but don’t tell someone what they specifically should do with their money, and don’t present yourself as their advisor. Everyone’s situation is different.
4. Education only
Freedom Climbers and its community share general financial education, not personalized financial, legal or tax advice. For decisions about your situation, consider talking with a qualified professional (for example a nonprofit credit counselor, a fee-only financial planner, or a tax professional).
5. Protect your privacy
- Never post account numbers, full names, addresses, phone numbers, Social Security numbers, or photos of statements or cards.
- Blur or crop screenshots. Round your numbers if you’d rather not share exact amounts.
- Don’t share other people’s personal information or stories without their permission.
- Nobody from Freedom Climbers will ever ask for your passwords or bank details.
6. Keep it on topic and honest
Stay close to debt, budgeting, saving and mindset. Be honest about your own experience, and don’t make up results.
Moderation
Moderators may edit or remove posts and suspend accounts that break these guidelines. If you see something that breaks them, please let a moderator know. If you are in crisis or feel unsafe, please contact local emergency services or call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, U.S.).
